Excessive Heat Warning Issued for Northern California this Week

Beating the heat on Lake Tahoe

This past weekend, Northern California saw a crazy thunderstorm that brought thousands of lightning strikes to the area and a torrential hailstorm to Lassen Volcanic National Park. But on the heel of that storm comes normal NorCal summer heat, with temperatures forecast to get up to 110 this week.

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for areas of NorCal from Wednesday through Friday. The warning extends from Redding through the valley to the south side of Sacramento. Areas surrounding the Bay Area have been issued and Excessive Heat Watch:

Officials recommend limiting time outside, hydrating, dressing for the heat and checking on checking on elderly, children and pets frequently.
