First Snow of the Season Brings Glorious White Mountaintops to Tahoe

After a long and grueling drought throughout Northern California, Mother Nature finally brought us a glimpse of good fortune in the form of snow falling throughout the Sierra Nevada. The Tahoe mountaintops received the best of this snowfall, returning to their glorious white color just in time for the upcoming winter season.

The snow began falling on Friday morning and gave the ski resorts something to celebrate following a difficult fire season that saw the burning of Sierra-at-Tahoe and fire danger to Kirkwood and Heavenly. The snowfall should alleviate fire concerns in the area and signal a changing of the seasons.

Ski resorts and locals throughout the Tahoe region showed photos of the snow in all its glory:

What a great relief to see this precipitation throughout NorCal as the possible end to fire season and a break from the historic drought. Keep on rain dancing!
