Fisherman Nets Giant 37-Pound King Salmon on the Sacramento River

The salmon fishing season in Northern California is till plugging along nicely on the Sacramento River. While the fall run is the typically the gold rush for salmon fisherman, December can still bring some decent catches for the hardcore anglers.

Recently, fishing guide Mike Rasmussen helped his client Sam Hicks land a 37-pound monster Chinook salmon on the Sacramento River, proving the salmon run is still kicking in NorCal. Here’s a look at the beast:
