MUST WATCH: Olympic Snowboarder Crashes Plane into Eastern Sierra Mountains

A recent YouTube video posted by former Sochi Olympic snowboarder Trevor Jacob has been a huge conversation online as it shows his plane crashing into the Sierra Nevada mountains. In the video, Jacob survives by jumping out of the aircraft, which lead some people to believe he did it as a publicity stunt for video views.

The video shows Jacob taking off in a 1940 Taylorcraft light, single engined aircraft from Lompoc Airport in California to spread the ashes of his friend Johnny Strange over Mammoth Mountains. In the middle of the flight, Jacob loses power in the aircraft, forcing him to jump out and watch as the GoPro films the plane crashing into the mountains.

Following the crash, Jacob was able to locate the wreckage before hiking out and beging saved by nearby farmers. The crash is currently under investigation by the FAA.

Do you think the plane really stalled or was Jacob trying to get extra views on his video? Watch the video above and let us know what you think.
