The Roads Are Treacherous Throughout Northern California Right Now

With a rare blizzard currently blasting Northern California with heavy snowfall, the road conditions throughout the mountains are treacherous. For the roads that have remained open (there’s not a ton) chain controls are prevalent and travel through the mountains is extremely dangerous.

By taking a quick look at the CalTrans Quickmap, we can see just how crazy the roads are as of Tuesday morning:

Without going into too much detail about chain controls and road closures, we wanted to provide a quick glimpse into the treacherous road conditions throughout NorCal right now. Here’s a look at the CalTrans webcams throughout the region:

Mount Shasta (Interstate 5)

Shasta Lake (Interstate 5)

Lassen Volcanic National Park

Weaverville (Highway 299)

Burney

Lake Almanor

Donner Summit (Interstate 80)

Olympic Valley (Highway 89)

Sierra-at-Tahoe (Highway 50)

Pollock Pines (Highway 50)

Crowley Lake (Highway 395)

Mammoth Lakes

In other words, just stay home and hunker down.
