Vail Resorts has extended the ski season at their Tahoe resorts, with Northstar, Kirkwood and Heavenly all staying open a week longer than originally anticipated.
For skiers and snowboarders, this extension will give everyone another chance to hit the slopes during the Covid year that limited the slopes for many. Here are the updated closing dates for the Tahoe resorts:
- Heavenly â€“ Sunday, April 18, 2021
- Northstar â€“ Sunday, April 18, 2021
- Kirkwood â€“ Sunday, April 11, 2021
Heavenly plans to operate beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain accessed by the HeavenlyÂ Tram, Gunbarrel Express, Patsyâ€™s, PowderbowlÂ Express,Â Sky Express,Â Heavenly Gondola, Tamarack Express, and Dipper Express.Â Heavenlyâ€™s California Lodge and Heavenly Village will be the two open base areas.Â
NorthstarÂ will continue to offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain off the Big Springs Gondola,Â Vista Express, Arrow Express, Comstock Express, and the Backside Express chairlifts during theirÂ extended season.Â
BothÂ base areas at Kirkwood, the Village and Timber Creek, will provide accessÂ toÂ beginner, intermediate and advanced terrain during Kirkwoodâ€™s extendedÂ season.Â The rental shops at Timber Creek and the Village will be open.
