Video Shows Boulders Laying Across Highway 395 Following Sierra Earthquake

A 5.9 earthquake slammed the Sierra Nevada on Thursday afternoon, with many Northern California communities feeling the shaking from Tahoe all the way to the Bay Area. Coleville in the High Sierra was most impacted by the quake, with boulders falling all across U.S. Route 395.

A video was posted to Twitter by Brett Durrant showing boulders laying across the popular highway and people trying to move them out of the way of vehicles:

The earthquake caused a scary scene in the area on Thursday. Another video shows dust flying off the mountain near the Coleville/Walker area:

The 5.9 earthquake was followed by a 4.0 magnitude quake near Stockton just ten seconds later. There have been multiple 3.0 tremors felt since the major incident.

Currently, there have been no damage or injuries reported.
