When an SUV carrying five people drove off a 200-foot canyon near Colfax, a CalFire rescue team was deployed to the area to execute a daring rescue in the rugged terrain.

The footage was shared on social media and show the hard work that these firefighters show in the face of danger:

The vehicle flew off the embankment of the windy Yankee Jims Road in Placer County Saturday evening, sending the vehicle into a long fall down the canyon. The driver and passengers of the vehicle all survived the wreck, even though they weren’t wearing seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle.

Four of the victims were brought up the canyon by CalFire crews, while one was flown out of the wreck site. All of the victims were brought to the trauma center for major to minor injuries, while the 20-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
