WATCH: Massive Slab of Snow Removed from a Truckee Home

With the historic winter in Tahoe this year, living among massive snowfall includes the many household tasks of removing the snow off different areas of your home. The snowpack has become so deep that residents have been working around the clock to remove the large snowpack from their homes.

With homes and buildings that haven’t removed the snow in a timely fashion, we’ve seen numerous occasions where the weight of the snow collapses the roof. The above video shows some workers removing a GIANT slab of snow from a Truckee roof. The shear size of the snow slab, likely in the vicinity of 20-feet tall, shows the magnitude of the snowpack in the Sierra.

What an unbelievable winter we’ve had in Northern California. But with heavy rain and snow, there are certainly problems that arise. For this Truckee home, at least they won’t have a collapsed roof.
