Where the Wildflowers Are: See NorCal’s Super Bloom at Table Mountain
Spring has arrived and that means wildflowers have begun to embellish many of our favorite trails. Strolling through a meadow dotted with every color imaginable puts you, at least for a few moments, in a serene utopia. It’s an experience that every NorCal hiking enthusiast should have at least once.
With the historic winter of 2019 in the books, Northern California’s superbloom is in rare form. And just outside Oroville you can find big, beautiful, blooming flowers in the North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve.
The area is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in NorCal during the spring, both for its flowers and for the 164-feet waterfall Phantom Falls. The month of April proves to be one of the most popular to visit the area for a good reason – the bloom is epic!

Here are the directions to Table Mountain in Butte County:
From Hwy 70 in Oroville, exit at Grand Ave (Exit 48). Go East on Grand Ave for 1 mile. Left on Table Mountain Blvd for a tenth of a mile. Right on Cherokee Road 6.3 miles north to the reserve. Official access is through a small parking lot on the west side of Cherokee Road.
