Wildfire with ‘Dangerous Rate of Spread’ Forces Evacuations in Colusa County

The Sites Fire began just after 4 pm in Colusa County and quickly grew to 200 acres, forcing evacuations for homes along Sites Lodoga and Squaw Creek roads. CalFire has described the fire as having a “dangerous rate of spread.”

The wildfire is currently active near East Park Reservoir, which is around 20 miles northwest of Williams. The fire is sending massive amounts of smoke into the air, and although CalFire’s last report puts the fire at 200 acres, onsite sources are saying it could already be as large as 1,000 acres.

We will continue to update the situation as more information is made available.
