Yosemite National Park Updates Entry Reservation System for Remainder of 2024

Yosemite National Park has announced a change to its entry reservation system, adjusting the end time for reservations for the rest of the 2024 season. The new policy now allows visitors to enter the park without a reservation after 3:00 p.m., instead of the previous cutoff time of 4:00 p.m.

Reservations are still required to drive into or through Yosemite between 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on specific dates until October 27. These dates include all Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays such as October 14 (Columbus Day).

Visitors can now enter Yosemite without a reservation after 3:00 p.m. on the designated days. This change is an hour earlier than the previous system, making it easier for those planning to visit in the afternoon.

If you plan to visit during the reservation-required hours, reservations can be made online at Recreation.gov. Reservations are released at 8:00 a.m. Pacific time, one week in advance of the arrival date. Be prepared as spots fill up quickly. It’s recommended to create a Recreation.gov account beforehand and log in promptly at 8:00 a.m. to secure a reservation.
