California State Parks Offering Free Admission to Veterans on November 11

In honor of Veterans Day, California State Parks will offer free admission to U.S. military veterans, active duty, and reserve personnel, along with their families, at 142 state parks across the state on Tuesday, November 11.
The initiative honors those who have served and comes as many national parks remain affected by the ongoing federal government shutdown. California’s state parks, however, continue to operate as normal and are welcoming visitors to explore beaches, forests, and historic sites.
“California State Parks is proud to provide free access to veterans who have stood watch and protected our country,” said State Parks Director Armando Quintero. “We invite you to find rest, healing and connection within California’s most beautiful and cherished natural treasures.”
Participating locations include state beaches like Half Moon Bay, historic parks such as Sutter’s Fort, and natural reserves including Tule Elk and Armstrong Redwoods. Military-related sites like Angel Island and Colonel Allensworth State Historic Park will also be open.
To receive free admission, visitors must present a valid military ID or proof of honorable discharge. A full list of participating parks is available at parks.ca.gov/VeteransDay2025.
