A South Lake Tahoe Man Just Made Ski Bike History on Kirkwood’s Most Notorious Run

A South Lake Tahoe area resident just pulled off something nobody has done before: riding Kirkwood Resort’s infamous “Once Is Enough” run on a ski bike.
Jason Lindstrom, 50, completed the first known ski bike descent of the legendary chute on April 13. The run, located on Kirkwood’s notorious Wall, has earned its name by challenging even the best skiers and snowboarders with steep, unforgiving terrain that demands full commitment from top to bottom.
What makes the accomplishment stand out beyond the technical difficulty is that Lindstrom did it at an age when most athletes in extreme sports are slowing down. The video, shared on his Instagram account @jason.lindstrom, has caught the attention of the extreme sports community and has been picked up by Kirkwood’s official channels.
Kirkwood’s Wall is widely considered some of the most intimidating in-bounds terrain in the Tahoe region. The lift-accessed pod includes runs like All The Way, Notch Chute and The Drain, all of which feature steep pitches, cliff drops and tight chutes. “Once Is Enough” stands out as the most no-fall-zone run of the group, a straight, narrow line that punishes hesitation.
Ski biking has been growing in popularity at resorts across the country, but this is believed to be the first time anyone has taken one down terrain this extreme at a major California resort.
Kirkwood closed for the season on April 19.
