Fire Breaks Out Along Interstate 5 Near Shasta Lake
Another fire has broken out in Northern California, this time along Interstate 5 near Shasta Lake. Fire officials are on the scene of what is now being called the Gibson Fire, which has grown to 3 acres and is causing traffic issues along I-5.
Gibson Fire Update: The fire has grown to 3 acres due to very active fire conditions. Fire is located on I-5 north of Pollard Flats. Caution while driving in this area, smoke could be visible on the road.

The fire is located just north of Pollard Flat and Shasta Lake and is continuing to grow with windy conditions. One lane of northbound I-5 has been closed, according to the California Highway Patrol.

While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, forest service officials tweeted just before the fire broke out about a campfire that got out of control in the area. It’s unknown if these incidents are related:
