Lake Redding Regatta Returns This August with Races, Beer, and Riverside Fun

The Lake Redding Regatta is back August 16–17, bringing two days of paddling action, live music, and outdoor festivities to the Sacramento River.
A revival of a beloved Redding tradition dating back to the 1930s, the Regatta welcomes paddlers of all experience levels. This year’s races include both recreational (1-mile) and performance (2-mile) divisions, with streamlined age categories (18–49 and 50+). New in 2025 are expanded boat types, including crew boats, canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards.

Before hitting the water, participants must attend a free safety clinic through Headwaters Adventure Co. Sessions are set for July 19 and 26 at 10 AM.
The fun kicks off Saturday, August 16 from 5–9 PM with live music by Full Throttle and the debut of a limited-edition Regatta Ale, brewed specially for the event by Fall River Brewing Co. Sunday’s races run from 9 AM to 2 PM and include food trucks, riverside views, and plenty of competition.
Wellness and recovery services—like sauna access and physical therapy—will also be available to racers, continuing a fan-favorite addition from last year’s event.
