‘Mount Shasta is Closed’: Everitt Memorial Highway Inundated with Flash Flooding

While Hurricane Hillary is making waves for our neighbors to the south, it looks like remnants of the hurricane made it all the way to Mount Shasta. In fact, a mudslide has closed the Everitt Memorial Highway, closing access to many of the main areas on the mountain.

After a mudslide and flooding occurred throughout the region on Tuesday, the roadway closed down in order to combat the water flowing in the region. Photos and videos online show just how bad the flooding got throughout the day:

We will keep you updated on the status of the roadways in Mount Shasta, but as of now, it’s probably best if you stay away.
