Turtle Bay Partners with California Trout on Aquatic Adventures Program

Turtle Bay Exploration Park, a museum and animal conservation along the Sacramento River in Redding, announced a five-year partnership with California Trout, a San Francisco-based conservation and advocacy group.

California Trout will sponsor the Park’s ongoing Aquatic Adventures program, which educates visitors about the Sacramento River and water ecosystems through family-friendly activities like sea star encounters, fish and beaver programs, salt water talks, turtle talks, training sessions and more.

California Trout works to ensure resilient wild fish thrive in healthy waters for a better California. This work is accomplished by on-the-ground conservation projects, including several Northern California Legacy Streams Projects currently in progress. The research and up-to-date information that California Trout provides helps Turtle Bay convey the importance of the Sacramento River ecosystem to guests of all ages.

“Engaging the next generation in caring for our rivers and native fish is crucial to our organization.The hands-on experience kids receive at Turtle Bay is sure to increase their wonder and future stewardship of their natural environment,” said Tracey Diaz, California Trout Development and Communications Director.

Aquatic Adventures is held Wednesday through Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. The program is free for members and included with Park admission. Aquatic Adventures receives additional support from The Fly Shop in Redding.
