5 Earthquakes in 21 Minutes Shake Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe visitors and locals awoke to a rumbling under Lake Tahoe this morning, with a series of 5 earthquakes occurring in the middle of the lake from 8:33 am to 8:54 am.
The first earthquake hit the middle of the lake at 8:33 am with a 3.91 magnitude. It was followed by a 2.5 magnitude just two minutes late. Then, between 8:40 and 8:54 am, three more occurred measuring in at 1.9 magnitude, 2.78 magnitude and 2.1 magnitude. The earthquakes all happened in the middle of the lake, approximately 5 miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe.
The earthquakes marked an eventful night in the area following a night of late-season snow throughout the Tahoe area. Locals took to social media to commemorate the eventful day:
