7-Year-Old Girl Killed by Falling Boulder at Tahoe Ski Resort

A tragic accident claimed the life of a 7-year-old girl at Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village, Nevada, over the weekend. The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m. on Saturday and involved a falling boulder in a non-skiing area of the resort.

According to a statement from the resort, Diamond Peak Ski Patrol responded immediately to provide first aid while emergency services were en route. Despite their efforts, the child was pronounced dead from her injuries.The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and described it as “a tragic accident,” confirming there was no foul play involved. The child has been identified as Adelyn Grimes of Reno, Nevada. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Adelyn died from blunt force injuries to her neck and chest. Her death was officially ruled an accident.Diamond Peak Ski Resort staff expressed their sorrow in a statement, saying they were “deeply affected” and extended “heartfelt condolences” to Adelyn’s family and everyone impacted by the tragedy.
