All Roads Now Open in Yosemite as Tioga Pass Clears for Summer

Tioga Pass is officially open for the season, with Yosemite National Park reopening Highway 120 and Tioga Road on Monday, May 26 at 8 a.m.

All major Yosemite attractions—including Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point, and Mariposa Grove—are now accessible throughout the park. Crews have cleared much of the winter snow and debris to ensure a safe experience for visitors.

The opening occurred just in time to accommodate the heavy Memorial Day traffic.

“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone over Memorial Day Weekend as we honor the memory of the nation’s fallen service members,” said Acting Superintendent Ray McPadden. “The park team has worked super hard to safely reopen every area of the park.”

While all roads are open, services along Tioga Road will be limited. Vault and portable restrooms will be available, but no food or fuel services are currently operating along the route. Park officials urge visitors to pack in their own supplies and store food properly in bear lockers when away from their vehicle.

For the best experience, arrive early or late in the day and expect long lines at entrance stations.
