Avalanche Warning: ‘Large and Destructive’ Avalanches Expected in Tahoe Area
With the massive snowfall bombarding the Tahoe area over the past few days, the Sierra Avalanche Center has issued an Avalanche Warning in the greater Tahoe area. With both natural and human triggered events on the mountain, the avalanches could be “potentially large and destructive.â€

Officials have called for the avalanche warning through much of the Tahoe area, all the way from Sierraville to South Lake Tahoe and down to Bear Valley. Cars are urged to avoid traveling near or below avalanche terrain. Here is the map of the warning:
