Brand-New Luxury Resort Near Yosemite to Open in Early 2026

A long-anticipated mountain resort just 15 miles from Yosemite National Park’s South Gate is finally taking shape. Outbound Yosemite, a 17-acre resort under construction in Oakhurst, is slated to open in early 2026, bringing new lodging, dining, and even a conference center to the popular gateway town.

The resort will feature 104 cabins and 14 lodge-style rooms, plus an expansive pool, hot tub, and more than 5,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor meeting space. Dining will be anchored by Juniper, a restaurant from Folkart Management offering a “pizza-forward menu inspired by the region.”

Located off Highway 41, just north of El Cid Mexican Restaurant and Reimer’s Candies and Ice Cream, the development marks Outbound Hotels’ first ground-up build. The project will also reopen the adjacent Hounds Tooth Inn as part of the resort.

Outbound Yosemite stems from a 2018 tax-sharing agreement between Madera County and developer Yosemite Ranch LLC, allowing the resort to retain 50% of its hotel-stay tax revenue for 25 years. County officials project the resort will generate $26.9 million in tax revenue over that span.

Madera County Supervisor Bobby Macaulay says the deal benefits the community. “Fifty percent of something is more than 100 percent of nothing,” he told The Fresno Bee. “That’s $500,000 a year that can fund more deputies or fire stations.”

Beyond boosting local tourism, the resort’s new conference center and infrastructure improvements, including extended water lines, new fire hydrants, and traffic safety upgrades, are expected to spur year-round visitation and future development in Oakhurst, one of Yosemite’s busiest gateway towns.
