Fall River Brewing Company has put Northern California craft beer on the map with a gold medal win at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival.

The Redding brewery won the Fruited American Sour Ale category for its Sherbet Drip Fruited Kettle Sour, a beer inspired from the classic sherbet flavor including ripe raspberry, sweet cara cara orange, and tart key lime. The limited release beer is the perfect drip for a hot summer day, registering in at 7% ABV.

The brewery celebrated the monumental win with a rerelease of the beer and a celebrations at their Redding taphouse:

Great American Beer Festival has become the standard for budding craft brewers in the United States. The festival is the largest of its kind in the country, and perhaps the world, with awards in 97 beer categories covering 175 different styles. Other NorCal winners included a gold medal for Seismic Brewing Co.’s Tremor California Light Lager, gold medals for Sudwerk Brewing Co.’s The People’s Pilsner and Backyard Hero American Lager, a gold medal for Third Street Alework’s Annadel Pale Ale, a gold medal for Ghost Town Brewing’s Nose Goblin, and a gold medal for Barebottle Brewing Co.’s Cryo Chemistry. Sudwerk Brewing Co. also won Brewer of the Year for the 5,001 – 15,000 Barrel Brewery category.

Fall River Brewing Co. continues to be the gold standard for breweries in the Shasta Cascade region, bringing a fun outdoor theme to its delicious beers. Their flagship Hexagenia IPA is very popular among Redding locals, named after the popular insect hatch along Fall River.

Congrats to Fall River on their monumental win!
