Four-Wheel Spring Cleanup Event Coming to Donner Lake this Weekend

Join Four Wheel Campers and Clean Up The Lake (CUTL) for a spring cleanup event at Donner Lake on Sunday, June 12. CUTL is a Tahoe-based nonprofit 501c3 whose mission is to fight back against plastic and all forms of pollution in our global environment, both on land and under the surface. CUTL has been working to remove debris from Donner Lake since June 2020, both via their scuba clean up team and volunteers on the ground.

SCHEDULE + LOCATION

Meet at the West End Boat Launch on Donner Pass Road around 8:45am, start the cleanup around 9am, and wrap things up around 1pm.

PARKING

Please park on on Donner Pass Road, near the boat launch. Parking in this area is free, and it will give us access to the northeast shore of the lake, where we’ll be focusing our cleanup efforts. In the event that we get a surplus of volunteers, we have permits for volunteers to park at Donner Lake State Park, and we can shuttle folks accordingly.

VOLUNTEER DUTIES

Volunteers will be assisting solely with ground cleanup (i.e., collecting litter by the shore), and before we wrap things up and grab lunch, we will get a categorization demonstration from CUTL.
