From Snow to Summer: Here’s When Tahoe Resorts Open for Warm-Weather Fun

After a chilly spring start, summer is fast approaching in the Sierra, and Tahoe’s mountain resorts are preparing to swap skis for bikes, hikes, and gondola rides.
Here’s what to expect this summer at Tahoe resorts:
- Heavenly kicks off summer May 23 with gondola rides, a mountain coaster, snow tubing, and mountaintop cocktails. Weekend-only operations run until June 13, when daily access begins. Yoga and Discovery Day Camp launch in July.
- Northstar opens its golf course June 5 and the bike park June 13 (conditions permitting), with races, extended hours, and community rides through summer.
- Palisades Tahoe starts summer activities June 20. Aerial Tram tickets include lift access, mini golf, roller skating, and food vouchers.
- Mammoth Mountain opens Woolly’s Adventure Summit May 22 with biking, tubing, climbing, and more. Golf and bike park open May 23.
- Boreal offers summer fun Wednesday–Sunday, including indoor trampolines, skate parks, and trails for hiking and biking.
Other resorts like Mt. Rose, Sugar Bowl, and Diamond Peak are closed for official summer operations, but trails remain open to hikers and bikers.
Ski season isn’t quite done either — Palisades Tahoe and Mammoth Mountain plan to keep lifts spinning through Memorial Day (May 26).
