Interstate 80 Closed at Alta Due to Snowstorm Induced Collisions
After much hype, the massive snowstorm has hit Northern California and traffic conditions are already being hindered. Chain controls are being reported all over NorCal, from Mount Shasta to Mammoth, but the roads near Tahoe are already closing down.
Early Tuesday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol announced chain controls on Interstate 80. Right after that announcement, they announced the road had been closed due to multiple collisions:
