Join the Trinity River Clean-Up and Raft Trip to Protect Salmon and Support Tribal Stewardship

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, community members are invited to roll up their sleeves and hit the water for the annual Trinity River Clean-Up and Raft Trip, hosted by Save California Salmon in partnership with the Hoopa Valley Tribe, Warrior Institute, and youth groups.
Starting at 9:00 AM at the Hoopa Tribal Office, volunteers will help remove trash and debris from vital areas along the Trinity River—one of California’s most important salmon-bearing waterways. After the morning clean-up on land, participants will hop in rafts at 11:00 AM to continue efforts on the water, followed by lunch and discussions on threats facing the river.
This hands-on event not only supports the recovery of endangered salmon but also highlights the cultural and ecological importance of the river to local Tribes. Speakers from the Hoopa Valley Tribe and partner organizations will share insights on the river’s future, water justice, and Indigenous stewardship.
Decades of water diversions and habitat loss have taken a toll on the Trinity River. This event empowers residents to take action while connecting to a deeper understanding of the river’s role in the health and heritage of the region.
The event is free and supported in part by Sierra Health Foundation’s Elevate Youth California Grant. All are welcome to attend and help restore the river for future generations.
