Mt. Shasta Ski Park Receives a Foot of New Snow with More on the Way
The New Year has been good for the mountains of NorCal. Continuous storms beginning on January 1st have brought plenty of new snow with another storm on the way this week.
Mt. Shasta Ski Park is dancing in the riches of powder this week, with a foot of new snow falling over the past 72 hours. This has allowed the park to open all five of its lifts and 20 of its 32 runs. There’s also more snow on the way this week.
Forecasts call for a wet, 3-day storm to hit NorCal on Wednesday and last all the way through Friday. That storm is expected to bring up to a foot of snow, creating a snowpack of around 3 feet at the top of the mountain.
Make no bones about it, today and next weekend will be fantastic for powder chasers. Next week is forecast to so be sunny, so be sure to get your snowy runs in soon. Let’s hope the snow continues to fall on the mighty Mount Shasta!
