National Parks Are Free on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here’s Where to Go in Northern California.

Get ready for an outdoor adventure on Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Northern California’s parks are calling, and the National Park Service (NPS) is making it even more enticing by offering free entrance to all National Parks on Monday, January 15 in honor of this significant day.

This marks the first fee-free day in National Parks this year, with the NPS increasing the free entrance program to six days in 2024. Just remember, while you won’t need to pay an entrance fee, this waiver doesn’t extend to other amenities or user fees.

Here are the additional five free admission days for 2024:

• April 20, 2024: First Day of National Parks Week
• June 19, 2024: Juneteenth
• August 4, 2024: Great American Outdoors Day
• September 28, 2024: National Public Lands Day
• November 11, 2024: Veterans Day
