Newly Released Horror Flick Features One of Our Favorite NorCal Mountain Towns

It’s not every day you get to enjoy a movie filmed in one of your favorite towns in the world. But that’s exactly the case for a brand-new horror flick that was filmed in Northern California, with an awesome name to boot.

Hotel Dunsmuir was recently released to video on demand and was filmed almost entirely in the town of, you guessed it, Dunsmuir! The movie was recently featured at HorrorCon in Los Angeles and is currently running at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival.

Here is a synopsis of the film:

A young woman flees an abusive husband, only to land at a historic hotel containing a sinister presence. After a frightening experience in her room, she sets out on the road and a maid from the hotel joins her.

And without further ado, here is the trailer:

What a cool film to watch during October!

Situated along the Upper Sacramento River just below Mount Shasta, Dunsmuir’s official town slogan is “Home of the Best Water on Earth.” Stepping into Dunsmuir is like taking a time machine back into the 1920’s. The downtown area has kept the same vibe for nearly a century with plenty to do in the region. Along with historic structures and beautiful murals, the town has plenty to explore nearby including Hedge Creek Falls and Castle Crags.

Hotel Dunsmuir is available to rent or buy on iTunes, InDemand (Spectrum & Cox), Vudu/Fandango, Vubiquity, Dish, Microsoft Store/Xbox, Google Play, DirecTV, Redbox, Amazon.
