Search Continues for Two Missing Brothers at Thermalito Afterbay Near Oroville

Search efforts are ongoing for two brothers who went missing at Thermalito Afterbay near Oroville over the weekend.
According to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday when one of the brothers, who was on a kayak, overturned in the water. The other brother jumped in to try and help, but neither has been seen since.
The brothers, Andrew Cornett, 19, and Wesley Cornett, 17, were reportedly duck hunting at the time of the incident.
Search crews from across the region, including dive teams, have been working tirelessly throughout the weekend to locate the pair. The extensive efforts reflect the urgency and seriousness of the situation as authorities continue to comb the water and surrounding areas.
