Sheriff: Missing Truckee Girl May Have Been Kidnapped at Campground Party

The search continues for a 16-year-old Truckee girl who has not been seen since a campground party at the Prosser Family Campground on August 6th. There is currently a $50,000 reward for information on her whereabouts.

Kiely Rodni was last seen around 1:30 am at the campsite 10 minutes north of Truckee, which included a party of more than 100 people, including juveniles and young adults. Her silver 2013 Honda CRV also hasn’t been seen since that night, and her phone remains out of service.

The Placer County Sheriff is considering every option when it comes to the search for Rodni.

“We are treating her disappearance as an abduction because we have not yet located her vehicle,” said the sheriff in a statement.

Kiely has blonde hair and hazel eyes and is approximately 5’7” and 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a black tank top with green pants, and has numerous piercings, including a nose ring. Her Honda CRV has the California license plate 8YUR127.

The community of Truckee has rallied around the Rodni family, who own the Lost Trail Lodge.

“We just want her home. We’re so scared and we miss her so much and we love her so much,” Kiely’s mother Lindsey Rodni-Nieman said. “Kiely, we love you, and if you see this, please just come home. I want nothing more than to hug you. If anybody else out there, if you know where she is, if you know anything about where she might be, if you have any ideas or thoughts, please come forward and share them. We’re not looking to bust anybody else or get anybody in trouble. We just want to see our daughter home.”

The sheriff continues a search around where she was last seen, and is working with multiple agencies to cover any potential scenario.

“Our air operations crew will be flying over the Interstate 80 corridor between Donner Summit and the Nevada state line, and will continue searching around the Prosser Lake area,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Despite the numerous resources we have utilized, Kiely and her vehicle are still missing. We are currently coordinating with the California Highway Patrol, Truckee Police, FBI, and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office as we continue our search for Kiely.”

Anyone with information regarding Kiely’s disappearance is asked to immediately contact the Placer County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 530-581-6320. Callers may remain anonymous.
