Skiing can be a pretty expensive endeavor. If you already own your own gear (rentals can be around $100), adult lift tickets can be upwards of $150 just for one day on the slopes. But Heavenly Ski Resort, located smack dab in the middle of South Lake Tahoe, has revealed a secret way to forego that expensive lift ticket and get on the mountain for free.

If you fly into the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and then hightail it over to Heavenly, they will present you with a free lift ticket from 12:30 to 4 pm:

All you have to do is present your boarding pass and photo ID to receive your free lift ticket. That’s it!

For Northern California locals, this might not be the most realistic opportunity. After all, flying from Sacramento, San Francisco or Oakland might be more trouble than simply driving. But for anyone who finds themselves in that situation, you have to take them up on the offer. Also, if you have any friends flying into Tahoe from out of town, let them know about this great deal. Free skiing!
