As thunderstorms throughout Northern California produced thousands of lightning bolts over the past week, photographers have been showing just how impressive these bursts of electricity can be. There’s no place that has shown the beauty of nature with the backdrop of lightning bolts than Yosemite National Park.
Prominent photographers flocked to the famed National Park to catch a perfect glimpse of the powerful storms bursting over the Eastern Sierra. With subjects such as Yosemite Falls and Half Dome, these storms were nothing short of incredible.
Here are just a few of the great images captured this week in Yosemite:
The full Half Dome bolt ??@wxmann perfectly forecasted this event and we went up together to separate overlooks. This was the view from Washburn Point at sunset last weekend! #cawx pic.twitter.com/Y2tK7ICwQW— Jeff Boyce (@Negative_Tilt) August 21, 2023
Feel incredibly grateful to have captured this incredible storm over Yosemite Valley on Saturday evening, as dynamics from the outer bands of Hilary swept through the area pic.twitter.com/Ltyk9ZWP0I— Carter Murphy ?8?? (@cartermurphy218) August 21, 2023
A major thanks to photographers Jeff Boyce and Carter Murphy for giving us a rare glimpse of these incredible storms!
