This Mountain is the Last Ski Resort Still Open in Tahoe. It’s Not Closing Anytime Soon.

In the wake of an extraordinary winter season that brought a staggering 723 inches of snow to its slopes (with more still on the way), Palisades Tahoe is standing tall as the last ski resort still operational in Lake Tahoe.

The resort, also known as the Spring Skiing Capital, isn’t wrapping up its ski and ride season anytime soon. Enthusiasts can anticipate daily operations extending through May, with a shift to the Alpine side on Fridays through Sundays in June. The final weekend of activity will span from July 1 to July 4.

Beyond its appeal as a winter sports destination, Palisades Tahoe continues to solidify its reputation as a hotspot for Lake Tahoe’s most popular events and live music. A prime example is the much-anticipated return of the Cushing Crossing on May 20. This event, now in its 31st year, is renowned as the original pond skim, and it will feature local celebrity judges, awards, and live music.

Over Memorial Day weekend, the Made in Tahoe festival will take over the Village. This unique event showcases the region’s finest local artists, businesses, and craftsmen. Visitors can look forward to an array of items made or inspired by Lake Tahoe. The festival, set to run on the Saturday and Sunday of the holiday weekend, promises a celebration of all things local and a true reflection of the spirit of Lake Tahoe.
