Today is Mt. Shasta Ski Park’s Final Day of the Winter Season
It was another difficult winter at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park, as sparse snowfall and poor snowmaking dominated the headlines throughout the winter. And on Saturday, fears of the Coronavirus delivered the fatal blow to mountain’s ski season.
Mt. Shasta Ski Park officials announced that the final day of the winter on the mountain will be Sunday, March 15th, due to Covid-19:
While the current storm could have saved the ski resort from an early closure this year, park officials felt the pressure of the growing ski resort closures in the Tahoe area, and decided to use caution in the face of the growing Coronavirus in NorCal.
“For the safety and wellbeing of our employees, guests, and vendors, we have made the tough decision to end our 2019/2020 season,” the resort wrote on social media. We appreciate the support and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our guests. Our last day will be a good one! Get up there for our final day of our BOGO sale and $5 beers!”
While the roads may be a little difficult to maneuver today, be sure to support Mt. Shasta Ski Park on its final days of the season.
