Video Shows Long Line of Semi Trucks Buried in Snow on Donner Summit

As the blizzard of the year slammed the Sierra with whiteout conditions over the weekend, a dangerous situation developed over Donner Summit, where motorists and truckers were stranded on the closed roadway. Now, video shows a long line of semi trucks buried in snow on the popular roadway.

During the early hours of March 2, 2024, the relentless storm left a significant number of vehicles stranded over Donner Summit, sparking an all-hands-on-deck response from emergency teams and tow services working tirelessly to reach those affected. The result was dozens of trucks buried in snow on the snowy pass.

This video from Chris Weather Chasing shows the eery scene:

On Monday, Interstate 80 reopened to traffic following a 72-hour closure, but it may not last long. Another storm is set to hit the region this week that will add to the 10 feet of snow that fell over the weekend. The roadways may close again, but it probably won’t be nearly as bad as this crazy scene on Donner Pass.
