Viral POV Video Shows Skier Launching Off MASSIVE Lake Tahoe Cliff

A jaw-dropping ski BASE jump off Lover’s Leap near Lake Tahoe is making the rounds online after a professional jumper launched himself off the granite wall and calmly deployed a parachute midair, all from his own point of view.
The clip shows the skier carving straight toward the cliff’s edge, disappearing into open air and opening his canopy just seconds later before gliding down into the trees below. The footage has quickly gone viral, sparking renewed conversation about extreme stunts at one of Northern California’s most iconic — and unforgiving — rock faces.
Check it out:
The jumper is Kasey English, a professional BASE jumper and wingsuit pilot. The jump took place on Dec. 29, 2025, and was filmed entirely from English’s helmet-mounted camera. He reportedly landed without injury. The video was initially shared by VideoElephant before being licensed for wider distribution.
Perched above U.S. Highway 50 near Strawberry, Lover’s Leap has long attracted climbers, thrill-seekers and adrenaline athletes. Its dramatic vertical drop and easy roadside access have helped cement its reputation as both a bucket-list destination and a place where mistakes can be unforgiving.
Veteran jumpers and outdoor experts note that ski BASE jumps leave virtually no room for error — once airborne, parachute deployment is the only safety net. While it’s unclear whether land managers will respond to the latest stunt, the video is another reminder that high-risk feats at public landmarks now reach massive audiences within hours.
