Watch: Massive Bear Casually Jogging Through Tahoe Neighborhood Delights the Internet

A new video out of Lake Tahoe is making the rounds online—and this time, it’s not about pristine beaches or paddleboarding. It’s a bear. A very large bear. And it’s going for a jog through a quiet Tahoe neighborhood.
The footage, captured on June 23 by a traveler named Ant, shows the bear casually trotting down a road in what many identified as King’s Beach on Tahoe’s North Shore. At one point, the bear even looks both ways before crossing the street—earning internet praise for being more well-behaved than most kids.

For those who grew up visiting Tahoe during summer, wildlife sightings are nothing new—raccoons, deer, and the occasional black bear have always been part of the experience. But in recent years, bear sightings have become more common as these curious creatures wander into towns in search of food or a sunny stroll.
While the bear in the video didn’t appear aggressive, experts remind everyone to keep their distance and never approach wildlife—even for the perfect shot.
In the end, the “Tahoe bear jog” is just another reminder that these majestic animals are part of the fabric of the Sierra Nevada. They were here long before us—and if we’re lucky, we’ll continue to peacefully share this beautiful place with them for generations to come.
