With New Snowfall, Mt. Shasta Ski Park to Open this Week

After a dismal start to the winter in Northern California and a delayed opening, Mt. Shasta Ski Park has officially announced its opening date for the 2024 season: Wednesday, January 10th.

Anticipation is building as the resort prepares to welcome winter sports enthusiasts. Recent storms and low temperatures forecasted for this week are expected to provide the ideal conditions for getting the hill ready.

The current look of the mountain is starkly different than it looked on New Years Day, where we highlighted how the park would have difficulty opening with basically no snow at the base:

But Mother Nature came through to deliver that white gold we’ve all been waiting for!

Despite the new snow, it’s essential for visitors to be aware that low snow conditions still exist, especially off the runs. The resort’s management is urging all guests to stick to open runs and respect mountain closures. These measures are not just for your safety but also for the well-being of the dedicated staff.

Winter is officially in full swing in NorCal. Time to hit the slopes!
