Yosemite’s Little-Known Ski Resort Won’t Open in 2025

Bad news for Yosemite skiers—Badger Pass Ski Area will not open for the 2024-25 season due to an insufficient early-season snowpack.
Despite snow in the forecast this week, Yosemite Hospitality and the National Park Service determined that the snowfall arrived too late, making it unfeasible to operate the resort for what would be less than a month.
The historic ski area, which typically relies on natural snowfall, faced a slow start to winter with unreliable accumulation. Officials announced they could no longer delay the decision, much to the disappointment of park visitors and locals who hoped for a turnaround.
For those who purchased season passes, full refunds will be issued within 10-14 business days to the original form of payment.
“We’re super bummed this year didn’t pan out,” officials shared in their announcement, thanking loyal Badger Pass supporters for their patience and dedication.
With hopes for a better winter next season, fingers crossed for deeper snowfall in 2025!
