You Can Now Book Your Reservation for Yosemite’s Annual Firefall Event

Yosemite National Park’s iconic “Firefall” event is set to return in February 2025, and reservations are now available for those planning to witness this breathtaking natural phenomenon.
The annual event draws thousands of visitors eager to see Horsetail Fall glow orange at sunset, creating the illusion of a cascading waterfall of fire. This rare spectacle only occurs on clear evenings in mid- to late February when the sun hits the waterfall at just the right angle.
To manage the large crowds, protect natural resources, and ensure visitor safety, Yosemite has implemented a reservation system for the last three weekends of February: February 8–9, February 15–17, and February 22–23, 2025. The reservation requirement applies to all visitors, even those not specifically attending the Firefall. Weekday visitors, except for Presidents’ Day on February 17, do not need reservations.
Reservations are available through Recreation.gov, with 50% of spots for all three weekends released on November 18 at 8 am PT. The remaining 50% will be available two days prior to each entry date. Visitors with existing reservations for lodging or campgrounds within the park do not need additional day-use reservations.
For those planning to camp, reservations for Camp 4, Hodgdon Meadow, and Wawona Campgrounds will open on December 15 at 7 am PT on Recreation.gov.
Don’t miss the chance to witness Yosemite’s mesmerizing Firefall. Secure your spot early and prepare for an unforgettable experience!
