Fresh Snow Just Extended Palisades Tahoe’s Season Into May

Spring has been anything but quiet at Palisades Tahoe.

Eleven inches of new snow fell on the upper mountain on Tuesday night, pushing April totals to 81 inches and the season total to 359 inches. With more light snowfall still in the forecast through the end of April, the mountain shows no signs of slowing down.

Cooler temperatures and a consistent pattern of cloud cover and scattered snow showers have kept conditions strong well into the spring, and Palisades is now the last resort in the Tahoe area still running lifts. That alone-in-the-market status, combined with continued snowfall, has the resort planning to keep operating into early to mid-May with no set closing date. Operations will continue as long as conditions hold.

It’s a fitting stretch for a resort that markets itself as the Spring Skiing Capital, where late-season storms routinely push winter conditions deep into spring before giving way to classic bluebird corn snow days.

For skiers and riders looking to squeeze in a few more days on the mountain, late-season pricing makes this one of the better value windows of the year. Current ticket options include a Spring Ticket Trio at $93 per ticket, a 2-Day Lift Pack at $125 per day, and $79 per day tickets for passholders from other resorts. The Spring Ticket Trio is fully transferable.
