Celebrate Butte County Museum Weekend with FREE Admission to 16 Museums

Looking for a fun family activity combined with an educational experience in Northern California this weekend? Look no further than Butte County Museum Weekend, which will offer FREE entrance to 16 museums in Butte County on February 29 and March 1.

Butte County Museum Weekend is an event created to support Visit California’s larger arts, culture and entertainment promotions across the state as well as celebrate Butte County’s vibrant arts and culture scene. Museums, galleries, and other cultural destinations across the county will be opening their doors for FREE from 10am-4pm. Catch the free shuttle in Chico and in Oroville to easily visit all the museums!

There will be shuttle loops to transport visitors to all the Downtown Chico locations and Downtown Oroville locations as well as a shuttle that will go from Downtown Chico to the Chico Air Museum. Here is a breakdown of all the stops on the shuttle loops, which will have pick ups at each location every 20-30 minutes:

Chico Loop A

• Residence Inn by Marriott
• Gateway Science Museum*
• Chico Air Museum
• Return to Residence Inn

Chico Loop B

• Oxford Suites
• monca
• Gateway Science Museum*
• Roundabout at Madison Bear Garden on E. 1st (to access Chico State museums)
• Chico Art Center
• Return to Oxford Suites

*Gateway Science Museum will serve as the transfer point for those wishing to take the other Chico shuttle

Oroville Loop

• Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Oroville
• C.F. Lott Home
• Chinese Temple
• Bolt’s Antique Tool Museum
• Oroville Historic State Theatre
• Pioneer History Museum
• Feather River Nature Center (drop-off at the Burger Hut across the street)
