Spring skiing season is officially upon us, bringing sunny skies, soft corn snow, and festive events like pond skimming.

Unfortunately, spring also signals the nearing end of ski season. To help you make the most of your remaining ski days, here are the confirmed closing dates for Lake Tahoe and surrounding California and Nevada ski resorts, listed from earliest to latest:

  • Tahoe Donner – April 6
  • Kirkwood Mountain Resort – April 13
  • Northstar California – April 13
  • June Mountain – April 20
  • Diamond Peak, NV – April 20
  • China Peak – April 26
  • Sugar Bowl Resort – April 27
  • Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, NV – April 28
  • Heavenly Mountain Resort – May 7 (estimated)
  • Mammoth Mountain – May 26
  • Palisades Tahoe – May 26

Several resorts have yet to announce their official closing dates, including popular locations such as Sierra-at-Tahoe, Boreal Mountain Resort, and Mt. Shasta Ski Park. These resorts will set closing dates based on weather and snow conditions, so it’s recommended to frequently check the resorts’ websites or social media pages for updates.

Keep in mind, operation schedules may be reduced to weekends only, and some resorts might offer limited terrain or lifts as conditions change. Enjoy your final turns of the season, and remember to check resort websites directly before planning your trip!
