Donner Ski Ranch Stays Open for Spring Weekends and You Can Help Decide When It Ends

Spring skiing is still alive and well at Donner Ski Ranch, where the lifts are spinning every Saturday and Sunday with no official closing date in sight. The mountain plans to stay open until the snow melts—or skiers stop showing up.

With fresh snowfall in the forecast, the season could stretch even longer, but the resort says it’s ultimately up to its visitors. If the crowds keep coming, the party keeps going.

To sweeten the deal, Donner is offering major spring discounts. Weekend lift tickets are just $69 for adults, but if you’ve got a 2024/25 season pass from any other ski resort, you can snag a lift ticket for only $25. Plus, current season pass holders can bring up to four friends for the same $25 price.

Lifts run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends, and the Old 40 Bar and Grill remains open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.—perfect for après or grabbing breakfast before hitting the slopes.

If you want to keep spring skiing alive, grab your gear and make the trip. Your turns might just help extend the season.
