Firefighters Are in For a Fight as the Hennessey Fire Enters Vacaville
The Hennessey Fire, part of the larger LNU Complex Fire, exploded in size Tuesday night and has continued to travel south, reaching the city limits of Vacaville. The city’s 100,000 residents have been put on notice, with evacuations in the northwest part of the city and houses already destroyed.
The firefighters are in for quite a fight today.
As the fire continues to grow Wednesday, heat signatures show that the fire continues to head for the busy Interstate 80 and towards the Travis Air Force Base, a heavily populated region known for its outlet malls. There are already 50 structures destroyed and 50 more damaged, with more than 2,000 threatened.

Vacaville Police are going door-to-door to get residents out of harm’s way as more areas are added to the potential path of wildfires. Mandatory evacuations are in place in the Browns Valley Neighborhood of Vacaville, just west of the intersections of Interstate 80 and Highway 505:
The Hennessey Fire currently sits at 12,500 acres with no containment. It’s part of the larger LNU Complex Fire, which consists of 7 fires in Napa and Sonoma Counties and has burned 46,225 acres with no containment.
We will continue to update the situation as more information is made available.
