Mammoth Mountain Records Snowiest November in More Than a Decade

Mammoth Mountain has officially experienced its snowiest November since 2010, with 62 inches of snowfall blanketing the Eastern Sierra resort.
The National Weather Service confirmed that nearly 50 inches of this total came from a powerful storm between November 23 and 26. This surpasses last November’s total of 61 inches, which marked the start of a record-breaking winter season.
Mammoth’s impressive snowfall can be attributed to its unique location and elevation. Situated at over 11,000 feet, the mountain benefits from its position along the Sierra Nevada, where moist air from the Pacific Ocean meets colder inland air. This combination creates ideal conditions for frequent and heavy snowfalls, particularly during atmospheric river events and strong storm systems like those experienced this month.
Renowned for its deep snowpack and long ski season, Mammoth Mountain consistently ranks as one of the snowiest ski resorts in North America. The recent storms have set the stage for another promising winter.
