NorCal Man Dies While Mountain Biking at Boggs Mountain State Forest

A Napa County man tragically passed away last week while mountain biking in the Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest in Lake County.

Jeffrey Harrington, 61, had been riding for several hours in the popular 3,500-acre forest when he suffered a medical emergency. According to Lauren Berlinn, spokesperson for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Harrington’s friend discovered him unresponsive and called 9-1-1 while attempting life-saving measures until medics arrived.

Despite their efforts, Harrington was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is currently unknown.

Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest is a 3,500-acre forest in Lake County, California, known for its rolling terrain, volcanic rock features, and extensive mountain biking trails, making it a popular destination for outdoor recreation and forest management research.
